Even despite the fact that I work with AI, I’m not a huge fan of it.
I can see where it’s leading us, and I can see the downside of where it’s taking us.
And this downside is bigger than when smartphones came out.
When smartphones came out, some people were saying there was a downside. At that time, you couldn’t really believe it.
Now, after more than a decade with smartphones, you can see the downside.
People communicate less.
We are programmed online.
We spend too much time in our phones.
We are easier to manipulate.
People compare themselves to each other, and we allow algorithms to program ourselves.
And people will agree with that now.
But back then, if somebody said:
“Hey, mobile phones will lead us to disaster.”
People would think you were crazy.
Now we clearly see the consequences.
And the same is happening with AI.
It’s early.
And imagine, the downsides are already so clearly visible.
People are shouting about them much, much more than we heard when smartphones came out.
It’s easier even to imagine the downside.
Because now we have already seen what happens when technology becomes deeply integrated into our everyday lives.
But that’s technology.
We must use the benefits from it.
And one of the benefits I want to popularize from AI is time.
Giving our time back.
Giving our humanity back.
Because with AI, we can get our time back.
We can come back to ourselves more.
We can actually grow more spiritually because of AI.
AI can take cognitive tasks away from us that none of us actually needed to do.
No human is built for those tasks.
But we were pushed to do them.
So now AI can replace us in that.
And that’s the good thing.
The goal of technology should be to give us more humanity, not to make us more dependent on technology.
Where I clearly see the problem is the race towards AGI.
That race should be stopped and controlled more.
Because I don’t think we need to put AI into everything.
I don’t think AI needs to be everywhere.
AI should stay inside of the computer.
Not in real, living life.
Because if technology can take away the work that humans were never meant to spend their lives doing, then maybe that’s exactly what we should use it for.
Give people their time back.
Give people their attention back.
Give people their creativity back.
Give people the opportunity to come back to themselves.
Conclusion
AI should make us more human, not less.
